The French government has passed a legislative amendment requiring companies to use certified cash register systems. This amendment aims to improve the security and efficiency of cash register systems and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
What exactly does that mean?
Effective immediately, all cash register systems used in France must be certified by a third-party provider.

Cash register system certification: Your to-do list at a glance
Until August 31, 2025
- Provide evidence that the certification process has been initiated
- Select certification authority: InfoCert or LNE
From March 1, 2026
- Cash register system must be fully certified
